1. 14 days, no questions
You can get a full refund of any Vaulterm purchase within 14 days of paying, for any reason or none. That includes every Pro and Ultra license, a Lifetime upgrade, and the first payment for Pro monthly or the AI add-on.
2. How to ask
Email [email protected] from the address you bought with, and include your receipt number or your key's last 5 characters. Never send your whole key. The refund goes back to the payment method you used, through Stripe. It usually arrives within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.
3. What a refund changes
The features the refunded purchase unlocked lock the next time Vaulterm confirms your license. If you own another plan, such as Pro, Vaulterm falls back to it, otherwise to Free. Nothing on your computer is deleted.
4. Pro monthly and the AI add-on
Pro monthly and the AI add-on renew each month until you cancel. The first monthly payment can be refunded within 14 days. Later monthly payments aren't refunded, but you can cancel at any time from the manage page, which opens Stripe's billing portal. Cancelling stops the next charge, and Pro, or AI, keeps working until the end of the month you've paid for.
5. Upgrades and credit
- Credit toward Ultra Lifetime is switched off for now, so a Lifetime upgrade is bought at its full price.
- Refunding a Lifetime upgrade refunds what you paid for the upgrade. If you got credit on a past upgrade, the purchases that gave you credit stay yours.
- An Ultra license that was counted as credit toward a past Lifetime upgrade can't be refunded on its own afterward. Within 14 days of the upgrade, ask us to refund the upgrade instead.
- Pro monthly payments and Pro licenses with an end date don't count toward Pro Lifetime, Ultra Lifetime or any other purchase.
6. After 14 days
After 14 days, purchases aren't refunded, except:
- when Vaulterm doesn't work as described and we can't fix it in a reasonable time. Then we refund you, even after 14 days;
- as section 21 of the Vaulterm Terms provides, if cloud features stop while you have time left;
- as section 22 of the Vaulterm Terms provides, if we revoke a license for a reason that isn't your fault; and
- where the law where you live gives you a right to one.
When Stripe is the seller of a purchase (merchant of record), Stripe may also refund it within 60 days to settle a payment problem. Such a refund has the same effect as ours.
7. EU and UK withdrawal right
Consumers in the EU and the UK have a legal right to withdraw from a digital content purchase within 14 days. At checkout, you ask us to deliver your key straight away and agree that this statutory right ends once delivery begins. Our 14-day refund in section 1 applies anyway, so you keep the same protection.
8. Chargebacks
Please email us before disputing a charge with your bank. A refund is faster than a dispute. While a dispute is open, the license it paid for is suspended. If the dispute is resolved in our favor, the license comes back.
