A free SSH client
for Linux.
Vaulterm is a free SSH client with a graphical session manager for 64-bit Linux (x64), as an AppImage, .deb or .rpm. It reads your ~/.ssh/config, keeps hosts and keys in an encrypted vault, and works fully offline.

AppImage for Most distributions, including Arch; .deb for Debian, Ubuntu, Pop!_OS, Mint; .rpm for Fedora, RHEL, openSUSE.
Hosts with their users, ports, keys and jump hosts, including Include files and Host * defaults, plus known_hosts.
Keys from the agent on SSH_AUTH_SOCK, saved keys, passwords and two-factor prompts.
Open your login shell (bash, zsh or fish) in a pane beside SSH sessions, and broadcast input to all of them.
Find the SSH servers on your network, like a NAS, a Raspberry Pi or Proxmox, and add them in one go. Network watch, which keeps watching chosen networks for new servers, is Pro.
Updates are signature-checked. .deb and .rpm updates ask for your password to install.
A session manager
that encrypts everything
Vaulterm keeps your servers as saved hosts in groups that share an identity, port, jump host and theme. It follows ProxyJump chains, keeps idle sessions alive and reconnects with backoff when a connection drops, and can scan a network to find SSH servers.
Every record is encrypted with Argon2 and XChaCha20, hostnames included, and the vault locks after a set idle time, on sleep and when your screen locks. See the security design.
SFTP, FTP and S3
Browse a server's files beside its terminal with SFTP, which is Free. FTP, FTPS and S3 connections are Pro. SFTP, FTP and S3 in Vaulterm.
Serial consoles and Network watch
Connect to serial consoles, and watch chosen networks for new SSH servers. Both are in Pro.
Vaulterm Code on Linux

Questions
Which Linux distributions does Vaulterm run on?
A current 64-bit (x64) distribution, such as Ubuntu 22.04 or later. The AppImage runs on most distributions, including Arch; the .deb suits Debian, Ubuntu, Pop!_OS and Mint, and the .rpm Fedora, RHEL and openSUSE.
Is there a Flatpak or ARM build?
Not yet. A Flatpak is on the roadmap; builds are 64-bit x86 for now.
Does Vaulterm replace OpenSSH?
No. Vaulterm has its own SSH engine and imports from your ~/.ssh files without changing them, so ssh keeps working as before.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Other than your servers, Vaulterm only contacts our update server.
