[ Free Windows 10 and 11 ]
A free SSH client
for Windows.
Vaulterm is a free SSH client for Windows 11 and Windows 10 (64-bit). The installer needs no admin rights, the Free plan has no time limit and no account, and your hosts, keys and passwords live in an encrypted vault, not the registry.

Saved sessions, PuTTY's trusted host keys and .ppk keys (versions 2 and 3, passphrase-protected ones included), and hosts from ~/.ssh/config.
The installer puts Vaulterm in your user profile, and signed updates install on restart.
Open servers as tabs, split a tab into named panes, and type into several panes at once. PowerShell opens in a pane beside your servers.
An SFTP browser beside each terminal, plus FTP, FTPS and S3 connections as tabs (those are Pro).
The vault encrypts hosts, keys and passwords, hostnames included, so a copy of it does not reveal your servers.
Sign in with keys from Pageant or the Windows OpenSSH agent, or keys saved in the vault.
Coming from PuTTY
or the built-in OpenSSH
Vaulterm imports your PuTTY sessions and your ~/.ssh/config hosts, so your servers are there on first launch. The import is shipped since version 0.0.2, you choose what to bring in, and nothing in PuTTY or your .ssh folder is changed. If you like PuTTY's habits, turn on right-click paste in Settings.
How to switch, or compare Vaulterm and PuTTY.
Tabs, split panes and broadcast input
Each server opens as a tab, and a tab splits into panes you arrange by dragging. Name the panes, and turn on broadcast to run one command on every pane in the tab.
SFTP is built in
Browse a server's files beside its terminal over the same connection, and edit in place. SFTP is Free. SFTP, FTP and S3 in Vaulterm.
A vault that encrypts hostnames too
Hosts, keys and passwords are encrypted on your computer before they reach disk. How the vault works.
Edit files on your servers
Vaulterm Code is in the same install. It edits folders on this computer for free, and on your servers with Pro. The 0.2 beta adds Claude (Pro, in the Beta channel). About Vaulterm Code.
Also on Mac and Linux. Download Vaulterm.
