[ Connections SFTP, FTP, FTPS and S3 ]

SFTP, FTP and S3
in the same app as your terminals.

Vaulterm is an SSH and SFTP client that also opens FTP, FTPS and S3-compatible storage as tabs of their own. Browse, upload, download and edit them like a server's Files tray, with their passwords and keys in the vault.

Vaulterm · Connections
The Connections page: an FTPS NAS and an FTP scanner inbox in Home lab, an S3 bucket and web-01 over SFTP in Production, an S3-compatible bucket and an SFTP server in Staging, and two more S3-compatible buckets on their own.
sftp-ftp-s3-client·What it does
SFTP, next to your SSH tabs

Open a server's files beside its terminal or on their own, using a saved host's identity and jump hosts. Free.

FTP and FTPSPro

Plain FTP and FTP over TLS for the hosting accounts and devices that still need them. Plain FTP is marked Not encrypted.

S3 and compatible storagePro

S3-compatible storage, as folders you can browse.

Like the Files tray

Browse, upload, download and rename the same way you do on a server beside its terminal.

Edit in place

Edit a file over SFTP, or open it in your own editor, and Vaulterm uploads each save.

Credentials in the vault

Passwords, keys and access keys are encrypted with Argon2 and XChaCha20, never stored in plain text.

One SSH and SFTP client
for servers and storage

A terminal for the server, an FTP client for the old hosting account, another app for S3 buckets: each with its own saved passwords. Vaulterm puts them in one window, in one encrypted vault, beside the SSH sessions you already use.

How to use Connections walks through adding each kind of connection, opening it as a tab, and what you can do with its files. See every feature and pricing.

Drag files between servers

Select files on one server and drop them on another server's pane, and Vaulterm streams them across, server to server, never through this computer's disk. You choose Replace, Keep both or Skip, and a drop can hold up to 100,000 items. This is Pro, like S3, FTP and FTPS.

Not encrypted is marked, and asks first

Plain FTP and http S3 endpoints are marked Not encrypted in the app, and saving one asks you first. SFTP, FTPS and https endpoints are encrypted in transit.

Edit files in place, or open the folder in Code

Editing a file over SFTP in place is Free. For a whole project, open the folder in Vaulterm Code, which runs in the same app. About Vaulterm Code. How the vault keeps your credentials: security.

Questions

Is the SFTP client free?

Yes. SFTP, in the Files tray beside a terminal or on the Connections page, is free. FTP, FTPS and S3 connections are in Pro. See Pricing.

Which S3-compatible services work?

Any storage that speaks the S3 protocol. Choose Other S3-compatible and enter its endpoint and region.

Can Vaulterm replace a separate file transfer app?

For most file work it can: browse, upload, download, rename and edit in place, in tabs next to your SSH sessions. It runs on Mac, Windows and Linux.

How do I browse a server I already have a terminal on?

Open the Files tray, or right-click the terminal and choose Browse files. It uses the open connection, so there's no second sign-in. See Files.
